RYA Sailing Courses: Only to be delivered at RYA recognized training centers as all the courses lead to certification.
Practical Courses:
- Start Yachting: Introduction to sail cruising. 2 days course on board.
- Competent Crew:You will be carrying out general duties satisfactorily on board including steering, handling sails and keeping a look out at the end of the course. 5 days on board.
- Day Skipper: A course to carry you up to the standard required to skipper a cruising yacht by day in familiar waters.5 days on board.
- Coastal Skipper: Involves the skills and techniques to skipper a yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night.5 days on board.
- Yachtmaster Coastal and Offshore Prep: Preparation for YM Coastal and Offshore exam going through the theory syllabus and brushing up your skills.
Theory Courses:
They provide all the theoretical knowledge required for the above levels, and it is recommended to take them before the practical courses, depending on your level. These are shorebased courses, typically lasting 5 days. You can also take them online through RYA recognized training centers.
- Essential Navigation and Seamanship
- Day Skipper
- Coastal Skipper and YM Offshore

- Marine Radio SRC: This course can be taken before or after the practical courses. It is a one day shorebased or an online course.
